Lesson

In the Cayman Islands, there's a place where nearly tame sting rays interact with people every day--they're basically aquatic puppies, begging for food and attention. The experience is so magical each ray is worth over a million dollars for the tourism he or she generates. Yet even such valuable creatures aren't immune to human carelessness (and worse), as evidenced by this poor ray's horrific scar, from a boat propeller. Luckily she survived her ordeal, but not all do. It's an important reminder that nature deserves our attention, protection, and respect.
